New Salem Neighborhood Watch Information.  Should the need arise, the patrol car is equipped with a two-way radio communication with the Dade County 911 dispatch operator (FIRE, MEDICAL, SHERIFF).  If you see us and need help, flag us down.

If you are going to be away from your residence or business and would like for us to keep a special eye on it while you are gone, call 706-398-1291 and leave a message on the answering machine or tell one of our watch members.

We cover a large area on Lookout Mountain.  The patrol car can't be everywhere at the same time.  The residents of the community are the "real" neighborhood watch members.  They know when something doesn't look right in their area.  If you see a suspicious vehicle or person in your area contact the sheriff at (706) 657-3233.  Please use the 911 number for emergencies only

New Salem Volunteer Fire Department.
Hurray hurray, the fire department building is paid in full. Thank you New Salem community. But, we have a new fire engine ordered and it should be delivered in June or July. The new engine will be mostly funded by splost but we are obligated to a certain amount of money so we must continue to ask for more donations. I hope the fire department has been a satisfaction to the community if for nothing else but your insurance.
We are continually trying to improve and keep up to date. I also hope you, the community, are as proud of our volunteers as we am.
Again, thank you for your donations.
If you have any questions, contact  Rodney Ross, Fire Chief or Gary Gross, Ass't Chief or Larry Scroggs, Cap/Sec.
